Congratulations to the three highly regarded industry leaders recently appointed to key senior roles in Auckland and Wellington

Manu King – e-Spatial Manager

Manu is Vice-Chair of the Spatial Industry Business Association. He’s based in our Wellington office.

Ian Smith – Spatial Lead, Auckland
Ian is a well-known international expert in spatial information consulting and leadership. He is the former Enterprise Information Manager for Auckland Transport. In that role, he led a multidisciplinary team responsible for the enterprise database platform, enterprise reporting, BI and geospatial services which were crucial to the operation and project successes of Auckland Transport. Before that, Ian was the Web, Mobile and Geospatial Manager for Auckland Council. Ian’s 30-year career has seen him involved in spatial centric roles across local government, utilities and transportation sectors.
He has a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Geographic Information Systems.

Reza Kalbasi – Senior Spatial Consultant, Auckland

The former New Zealand Geospatial Information Manager for a large global company, Reza was a member of the Global Geospatial Committee. He has extensive experience in developing information systems with a high level of business information and cutting edge technologies.

Reza has a Master of Science (Hons) in Geoinformatics and is a PhD candidate in Computer Science.

Harrison Grierson Managing Director, Glen Cornelius, said the new appointments were an exciting development for the company. e-Spatial merged with Harrison Grierson in February 2018 to become a standalone business unit of the company.

“As well as having two new extremely high calibre experts join the team, they’re based in our Parnell head office, enabling us to expand our services to our Auckland clients in the rapidly growing spatial information area.” Glen said Manu King’s appointment as the Manager of e-Spatial would ensure strong leadership and development of a high-performing, client-focussed team across the country.
